Junior
School's Production of the Musical Trolls
The Junior School's production of Peter Skellern's lively,
powerful and at tim es
frightening musical Trolls played to a packed Auditorium for
thre e
June nights.
Here is a synopsis of the plot written by Arsalan Cheema
of J2:
"This witty and humorous play is set in a village of
Trolls in Trollvania, which erupts into pandemonium when a
star crashes into the middle of the wedding between King Smee
(Jamie McCann) and Bleeta Drong (Elizabeth Walker).
B leeta
does not want to marry King Smee, for she loves another troll,
Droople (Ellen Houston, taking the part of the male lead).
Bleeta's posh parents, however, insist on her marrying the
king. From within the star emerges Snick (Bronte Zemlic),
the most evil goblin ever! Snick kidnaps Bleeta and flees
into a dark forest.
After a futile attempt by the Troll Army to catch t he
goblin, Droople decides to take matters into his own hands.
He ventures out of the village deep into the forest. There
he meets Nuffin Elf (Gemma Dewar), who shows him the secret
of how to defeat Snick
.by using love!"
Producer
Mrs Virginia Currie was proud to have had over 100 pupils
on stage for about 90% of the production. The high levels
of concentration and engagement by such a big cast testified
to the enormous team work of everyone involved. As usual,
the musical director, Mrs Sheila Nelson, working from her
central keyboard, ensured that the quality of singing was
exciting, powerful and poignant.
